Door-To-Door Maniac (1961)

Ron Howard took a break from playing Opie on the Andy Griffith Show to be in this movie.
He plays the son of a woman held hostage by Johnny Cash!
Johnny also sings the theme, Five Minutes To Live, which is the movie's alternate title.

Before playing Richie on Happy Days, Ron starred in the only movie directed by Darren McGavin.
It's called Happy Mother's Day, Love George AKA Run Stranger, Run (1973)

He plays an adopted teen who finds his biological family in a small town.
Including his aunt and crazy cousin, played by Patricia Neal and Tessa Dahl.
(Who are mother and daughter in real life.)
And discovers they're all keeping a dark secret.

You can watch both movies free on YouTube!

This is my second/last post for the Month of Mayberry. Check out my first here.

Dracula Has Risen From The Grave (1968)

This is the third Dracula movie starring Christopher Lee, whose birthday is today.
He celebrated his 46th birthday while filming it.
So the leading lady, Veronica Carlson, gave him this cake:

She also gave him her character Maria's cake:

That's director Freddie Frances watching.

There was another celebration on the set two days later.
Hammer Films was presented with the Queen's Award to Industry.
Peter Cushing, whose birthday was yesterday, accepted the award:

Here he is admiring it with Christopher, Veronica, and Barbara Ewing:

Peter and Veronica were also in Christopher's episode of This Is Your Life from 1974.
Along with Vincent Price, whose birthday is today too:

You can watch the episode here.

Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965)

This is the first Amicus anthology movie.
Dr. Schreck (Terror in German) is played by Peter Cushing, whose birthday is tomorrow.
I want this figure of him made by Distinctive Dummies:

His house of horrors is a deck of tarot cards.
He uses them to tell the fortunes of five men on a train.
One man is Christopher Lee, whose birthday is Wednesday.
Another is Roy Castle, whose segment features this mask:

You can listen to the Voodoo tune he plays with Tubby Hayes in that scene here.
Roy also recorded an unrelated song called Dr. Terror's House Of Horrors.
You can listen to it here and his song Voodoo Girl here.

That mask is in another Amicus movie starring Peter Cushing.
The Skull (1965), which also stars Christopher Lee, as you can see:

Man In The Attic (1953)

I'm celebrating the Month of Mayberry with MeTV by sharing this movie featuring Frances Bavier, who plays Aunt Bee on The Andy Griffith Show.

Man In The Attic is the third remake of The Lodger (1927) directed by Alfred Hitchcock.

Frances plays the landlady who suspects her lodger (Jack Palance) is Jack The Ripper.

You can watch it, the original and the other remakes on YouTube.
The other remakes are The Phantom Fiend (1932) and The Lodger (1944).
They're all good and differ slightly, including the endings.
