Merry Monday with Cab Calloway and Rose Marie

The Old Man of the Mountain (1933)
The third and last Betty Boop cartoon starring Cab Calloway.

If the dialogue between Betty and the Old Man sounds familiar,
that's cause it's used in The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993).
In this scene between Santa Claus and Oogie Boogie,
also featuring music similar to Calloway's Minnie the Moocher,
and dance steps close to his own:

Rose Marie, who is in International House (1933) with Calloway,
is also in a Betty Boop cartoon. See it, Sally Swing (1938), here!

Perhaps that's why her character on the Dick Van Dyke Show is named Sally.
She may say in Wait For Your Laugh, the new documentary about her.
I hope she talks about her doll collection in it too.

Speaking of which, I'll be reviewing a documentary about doll collectors soon.

This post is for Marfi's Merry Monday ♥
