"Words are wonderful toys"

That quote is from my favorite scene in From Beyond The Grave:

I played with words and produced these love poems:

Count Charles "Vlad" Leslie

Love is Immortality

My granddad Vlad didn't die in July
When as a bat he flew into the sunny sky
He just crossed over to the other side
Where the majority of our family reside
I know I'll see them again, so I won't grieve
Especially on All Hallows' Eve.

Vive La Lolligag and Moot (I changed their names)

Milk and Honey

The bee girl appropriately named Honey,
Was a queen to Milk her pet bunny
They kept bees together,
Till Death came to get her
"Take me instead!" Milk pled
"I'll be back for you and your little friends too!" Death said.

That poem is based on the song The Beekeeper by Tori Amos:

Did you know bats are pollinators like bees?
Donate to my fundraiser for them here and you can win a treat!

Bat Love Fest

To show my love for bats,
I'm raising $70 for batconservation.org.
In celebration of my batty blog's 7th birthday, Bat Week,
and October’s Heart-Bits with Magaly.

Help me #SaveTheBats by making a donation and/or sharing this page here.

To show my appreciation,
everyone who donates will be entered to win a $15 Amazon gift card.
To treat yourself to something sweet, like the Lemax Gingerwitch below.
Winner will be picked randomly after the fundraiser ends on Nomvember 1.
That's not a typo. Next month will be full of freaky food.

Have you conjured up a creepy culinary creation?
Send the recipe to me and I'll post it for all to see.
Speaking of which,
there's a Bat Week recipe contest. Info on it here.

Back to Ghoul

Hi my dears! Sorry I haven't been here.
Summer was cruel, but now everything's cool.
So let's hang with Vampira (Maila Nurmi) and her Ghoul Gang:

Carroll Borland, Vincent Price, Jeepers' Keeper (Fred Stuthman)
and Elsa Lanchester at The Tomb of Ligeia premiere.
Read all about it in Famous Monsters of Filmland issue 33 here.

I joined the Gang by purchasing this patch:

I'm also honored to be mentioned in this book's biography of Evilun:

Speaking of horror hosts, I got a Svengoolie figure!
