A Mad Birthday Tea Party

We can't have a party without music.
So follow the white rabbits
to my favorite
tea time
tunes
v

The painting in the middle is on Scarling's newest record,
which I love and purchased here

Welcome To The Tea Party by Kerli

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
(Note: Scenes are from Jan Švankmajer's delightfully dark film Alice.)

Fairytale by Omnia
(Note: The beautiful lyrics are actually a poem by Lewis Carroll.)

The Girl That's Never Been by Escape Key
(Note: Based on a story called The Cheshire, which can be read here.)

Drink Me by Anna Nalick

Sometimes I Feel Like Alice by Lisa Mitchell

Looking Glass by Hypnogaja

Sunshine by Aerosmith

Through The Looking Glass by The Monkees

Alice by Stevie Nicks

Beasts by Slow Moving Millie

Merry Christmas in July to all of you
and Happy Birthday to meeeee!

I found the perfect cake, made by The Cake Monger:

The inside is red velvet ♥

Why is it perfect?
Cause it's The Doll Days of Summer here in Horrorland
and Courtney Love's birthday was just on Wednesday.

It's based on my favorite song by Hole,
Doll Parts,
which I'm going to end this post with.

  1. A Mad Tea Party without music would be like a slaughter without guts--totally dull and unrealistic. Thanks for adding some danceable guts to the party, Holly Luv!

Stop by Drusilla's, and we shall dance A Haunting Mad Tea Party!

  6. The soundtrack to your party was second only to the cake! And that first image is gonna follow me 'round today - very clever. :)

  15. Great songs and that first video gives me an incredible rush of inspiration for an upcoming Dark Alice (Malice in Wonderland) party. Plus any video that features PERISH - who is famous for his costumes at the Labyrinth of Jareth ball...now that's a *WIN-WIN* in my book. Yowza. >;)

If you have time, drop by my tea party. I always love to share tea, nibblies and great ideas with new friends. :)

  26. party game - guess my age. when music was my life, my friends and i would go 'clubbing' every weekend. we wore our hair big and our waists small. we wore tight jeans and spent most of the time on the dance floor. Depeche Mode comes to mind. lol. thanks for sharing! ps. i still love grunge (Pearl Jam rocks)! cheers luvvy, erin ; D keytomyworld.com

  29. Oh, Holly, what a fabulous playlist of Alice songs! And yes, Doll Parts is a song just for us doll lovers, right? ('Doll lovers' sounds wrong. Sounds like some exotic Japanese paraphilia) Thank you so much for including White Rabbit! I love that song! Starts off quiet and rises into tuneful, but demented, yelling. In fact, I'm going to play it again. Thank you for inviting me to tea!
