The 13th Comic of Creepmas: The Dark of the Forest

About The Book:

It all started out so innocently.

Seven friends set out on a birdwatching weekend in the middle of the Navarre forest.
Little did they know that while they were watching the birds,
something else was watching them.
Something that wasn't human. Something very protective of the forest,
and willing to kill anyone that gets in its way.

 Something hungry.

Freaktown Comics brings you a desperate tale of survival,
humans united against a mysterious and deadly predator in a bloody battle to the death.

My Two Cents:

This comic was both exciting and educational.
It taught me what a Basajaun is,
and to stay far away from them!
I also love that it's set in the groovy 70's,
and features gobs of gory goodness!
Oh, and nudity! Definitely not a comic for kiddies.
Fellow adult horror fans will totally dig this though.
Especially the unexpected ending!

Where To Get It:

UK On Display
Or
Win a physical copy right here!
How?
Just by answering creator Russell Hillman's question:

The cover of The Dark of the Forest is inspired by a Jack Davis panel
from Mad Magazine's parody of the Eighties slasher boom.
What was their slasher story called?

Please include your name and email in your comment too.
Deadline is next Sunday, the 22nd.

The 12th Comic of Creepmas: Halloween Man: Cry Havoc!

About The Book:

It's the undead vs. the under-sized as Solomon takes on the King of the Dwarves!
Can Solar City survive a full-scale invasion from these mythical beings?
And just what is up with all of the gorillas?
This one-shot adventure mixes spooky thrills with silver age fun.

Halloween Man is a 21st Century Beauty and the Beast story
that brings together the most amazing aspects of horror,
superheroes, and science fiction.
Meet Solomon Hitch, the Halloween Man himself -
a misunderstood monster with the power of the horror movie sequel,
a heart of gold, and a taste for living flesh –
and his lady love Lucy Chaplin, the world's most glamorous mad scientist.
With his friends by his side, he just might smash evil, save the world –
and maybe even save his soul!

My Two Cents:

Move over Batman, Halloween Man is my new hero!
A backstory is provided for those unfamiliar with him.
As well as a foreword by his creator, Drew Edwards,
which was very inspiring and relatable to me.
A bonus story is also included,
which is set at Christmas time!

Where To Get It:

Halloween Man will be on ComiXology soon,
but you can win a PDF copy of this issue here!
Just comment with your name and email.
I'll pick a winner randomly next weekend.

Note:

The distinctive artwork is by Sergio Calvet.
Who also did the art for the 13th comic,
which will be posted soon!

The 11th Comic of Creepmas: Corpse Cop

Corpse Cop is sent to stop an outbreak in the north of the coming zombie apocalypse..
or start?
The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us now,
but there's someone to stand up to the mindless undead,
Corpse Cop!

My Two Cents:

Corpse Cop was created by the muliti-talented Alan Bennett.
Who produces, writes, and acts in The Velvet Coffin!
See him as the DeadEx Guy in the show's opening credits below.

The 9th Comic of Creepmas: Wars In Toyland

About The Book:

Toyland was once a place of wonder and beauty,
at least until the teddy dictator Roxbury took over.

Matthew finds himself carried into Toyland by his own loyal toy soldiers.
Matthew soon learns that Alex has been here, too --
and is now being held captive by Roxbury.
Leading an attack on the teddy bear's fortress,
Matthew never considers that his brother might be beyond saving.

My Two Cents:

I think you'll agree with me that this should be a movie,

The author/illustrator of the My Little Brother is a Zombie series
brings you this Christmas children’s book with a zombie twist.
See what unfolds after Santa Claus finds a mysterious letter from a young boy.

My Two Cents:

This rhyming story is short and sweet.
Just like this Zombie Santa treat...

The 6th Comic of Creepmas: Jingle Belle: Santa Claus Vs. Frankenstein

About The Book:

Jingle Belle comes to Top Cow in a special 'Halloween collides with Christmas' one-shot
written by Paul Dini and drawn by Stephanie Gladden (Powerpuff Girls, Chowder).
In years past, Santa has triumphed over a variety of enemies including the Devil himself.
Now, St. Nick gets ready to face his greatest challenge ever in Jingle Belle: Santa Claus Vs. Frankenstein! Inspired by Mary Shelly's original novel (sort of), the story of Frankenstein's monster takes a new twist when he is found by Jingle in the Arctic wastes and 'rehabilitated' to fit in with the elves at Santa's Workshop.
All goes well until an ultra-PC city declares Santa Claus taboo and awakens Frankie's monstrous side in an misguided attempt to help his friend.
It's up to an ailing Santa and a reluctant Jingle Belle to stop their monstrous 'apprentice' before he destroys the town and ruins the reputation of Christmas forever!

My Two Cents:

I haven't read this, but I shall soon, since I found out Krampus is also in it!
Thanks to the video below, which reviews this issue at the 6 minute mark.

I thought this was hilarious.
Also they forgot to mention ELVIRA is in it!
I just ignored the political parts and focused on her parts.
(No pun intended.)

The 3rd Comic of Creepmas: Dear Dracula

About The Book:

A young boy named Sam loves scary movies, especially the ones with Dracula!
This year, instead of writing to Santa for Christmas, Sam writes to Dracula,
asking the vampire king if he can become a real vampire for Halloween!
Sam is in for a surprise as the most famous vampire himself comes to visit!

My Two Cents:

I thought this was such a cute, Creepmasy story.
I've only seen the animated movie based on it though,
which you can watch below.

The 2nd Comic of Creepmas: Vincent Price Presents #0

About The Book:

This all new story features one of Mr. Price's classics, Last Man on Earth.
Vincent Price Presents comes to Bluewater Productions as an ongoing monthly series.
It'll feature some of Price's films as well as developing new ones with his estate.
Welcome back to the macabre world of Vincent Price.

My Two Cents:

Loved the story, but it was way too short.
I was hoping it'd continue in the next issue, but it didn't.
All the awesome artworks included make up for it though.

The 1st Comic of Creepmas: Turkey Grove Farms #1

About The Book:

Something is amuck at Turkey Grove Farms.
Jasper's dad, the famous face of the farm's commercials,
hasn't been seen since before Thanksgiving.
Why is Jasper telling anyone who will listen of a great turkey uprising?
Has Jasper gone crazy or is this another publicity stunt?
One thing is certain, business is booming and the turkey has never been more delicious.
Everything evolves, why not turkeys?

My Two Cents:

I found this twisted turkey tale delightful yet disturbing.
Definitely made me glad I didn't have turkey on Thanksgiving!
Don't think I'll be having sausage for quite awhile either.
