Vampire's Day Party Planning

Thanks to everyone who's attending the Sanguinary Soiree!
Together we'll take Valentine's Day away from stupid Cupid!

This isn't an Anti-Valentine's Day event though.
It's an Alternative one.
For people who prefer love at first bite!

Anyway, party preparations are underway!
Here's what I'm working on:

♥ Preparing a bloody, beautiful place-setting.
Which I'll photograph and post,
so it'll appear you're attending a real meal!

♥ Compiling songs for a party playlist.
Have any suggestions?
They should be songs about love and death,
and vampires, of course!

♥ Looking for gory gifts to give away.
Want to donate an item?
Let me know, please!

In conjunction with the giveaway(s),
I'd like to raise funds for Bat World.
Why? This rap by Robin Williams (you read that right!)
as Batty from FernGully (my favorite bat!) will explain...

(The sound is soft at the beginning, but gets louder at :34)

How could someone not want to help bats after watching that?!
And since bats are associated with vampires, it's a perfect time!

I might also do a vampire trivia game.
If everyone promises not to cheat with Google!

  2. I own an album called Forbidden: Songs of Love, Lust & Blood

While not all "ooky spooky", there are some good Alternative songs on there :) Perhaps you could use some songs from the album?

This is going to be a very cool day, I can tell you that XD

  3. "Carmilla" by Kaya
"Aristocrat's Symphony" by Versailles (although anything of theirs could probably count)
"The Vampire Waltz" by Hannah Fury
    "Damned and Divine" by Tarja
I suppose you've got "Bela Lugosi's Dead" on the list already?

    Hope this helps!

I'm surprised I didn't think of "The Vampire Waltz", cause I love Hannah!
I also love Tarja, but only know her from Nightwish.
Their song "Ghost Love Score" is on the list, along with "Bela Lugosi's Dead"!

I suppose the more MCR the scarier though, eh? ;) x

I haven't heard the other songs from the soundtrack though, so I'll check them out.
And those two songs are perfect! Definitely adding them.

  9. Firstly Bauhaus' 'The Passion of Lovers' - proper murky '80s Goth with a chorus of "The passion of lovers is for death said she". Not quite about vampires, but I think it suits an alternative Valentines day!

I can think of two Inkubus Sukkubus songs, 'Vampyre Erotica' and 'Vampyres'. Vampire Erotica's probably the better song of the two. I'm not personally a big Inkubus Sukkubus fan, but they do write about vampires.

Burn Sinister by Killing Miranda is a "necromantic love song" from the point of view of some kind of undead, but it's not clear what kind, maybe a ghoul or zombie rather than a vampire. Lots of talk of cerements and ice blue lips and I think the undead corpse fancies the mortician... Ridiculously catchy for a song that is pretty much about necrophilia... There's 'I Was A Teenage Vampire' also by Killing Miranda, which is pretty much horror movie and pop culture references from beginning to end including "Pretty fly for a dead guy" and "I was James Dean in a velvet gown, she was a bride of Frankenstein - a chopper chick from Zombie Town. I was an easy rider, bloodsucker, an adolescent Antichrist. Like Elvis I will never die"

Several others have suggested Bloody Pleasures by Blutengel, but I'd like to suggest "Reich mir die Hand". I can't speak German, but I think the video speaks for itself. Lots of attractive vampires feeding and clubbing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1G-9WUgptY Vampires drive shiny black Lexus cars. Vampire nightclubs look like fun (if you're a vampire, anyway).

    1. I agree, The Passion Of Lovers fits perfectly!
So does Vampyre Erotica and the Killing Miranda songs.
I love the lyrics of I Was A Teenage Vampire, but I'll probably use Burn Sinister, cause I'm a hopeless necromantic. ;)
I also love the Blutengel video. Thanks for the suggestions!
