Rainbow Blight

Sadly this isn't an actual card. It's fan art by oh-the-humanatee.

Rainbow Blight is also the name of the front woman of Hate In The Box,
a creepy, cool, candy-coated horror rock band from NYC.

As for Blight's inspiration, Rainbow Brite, I just bought a doll of her.
Which was actually advertised for by Heather O'Rourke (Carol Anne)!

The Pit and the Pendulum

You can view photos from the event at The Poe Museum here.
Which sadly I missed. So, let's have our own Viddy Pitty Party!

Not familiar with the story by my homeboy Poe?
Then get educated by this rap, yo!

Now here's the story superbly performed by Vincent Price,
in Act Four of An Evening with Edgar Allan Poe (1972)

And last but not least, I present The Pendulum, The Pit and Hope (1983)
By one of my favorite filmmakers, Jan Svankmajer.

There's also a Ray Harryhausen claymation version, but I couldn't find it online.
You can buy it on DVD though! (It's on my wish list.)

Poe Party and Giveaway Winner Announcement

Sorry for my absence here lately. I haven't felt like doing anything,
except veg out watching horror flicks. I blame the bloody heat!
I must get my rear in gear to attend this event though...

They're opening a special exhibit recreating a scene from the story.
Could it be the pendulum from the Vincent Price film? I hope so!
I even bought this Vincent Price cameo necklace for the occasion...

And now without further ado,
the winner of the BaronBob.com Ghoul Gift Giveaway is...

Just send your address to blacklacewings85@aol.com,
and I'll pass it and your choice of gift on to Baron Bob!

Thank you to Bob and everyone who entered!
Stay tuned for another giveaway soon!

Just kidding. Don't run away!
I actually bought some bite sized brains, which you'll see in my next entry.

Now in recognition of International Lolita Day and Skull Appreciation Day,

"Collect the heads of little girls and put 'em on my wall,
Hack the heads off little girls and put 'em on my wall."

Speaking of skull collections,
I plan to check out Gallery 5's 100+ Skulls Exhibition,
when/if I get to Richmond to visit the Poe Museum.
