History meets Horror in...

The Story:
Paris, 1742. Lia de Beaumont's body is found in a coffin floating along the Seine.
Her body is infused with mercury, therefore it's unable to decompose.
Her brother, D'Eon (based on the real Chevalier), is on a mission to find her murderer.
Aided by Robin, Durand, Teillagory, and Lia herself! (Learn all about them here.)
Lia's soul possesses D'Eon, using him as a weapon to avenge her death.

Want to know the rest?
You can watch all 24 episodes on YouTube or Hulu!
(I recommend buying the DVD set though.)

I plan to rewatch the series soon,
since I didn't fully grasp everything.
Such as these symbols:

If you know what they mean, please enlighten me!

Let's focus on what I did get though.

These are a few of my favorite things about Chevalier:

1. Belle, the talking skull that Queen Marie carries around

*Spoken in a little girl's voice* "Who's my mommy?"
(Her mother is revealed near the end of the series.)

2. The poets, using holy words as weapons

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword..."
Hebrews 4:12

3. Fight scenes with "the gargoyles"

Le Zombabes!

4. The ending theme song, Over Night by Aya

Bloody beautiful! Just like D'Eon and Anna's tragic romance.

A kiss goodbye
