Schlock (1973)

Happy Banana Day!
Celebrate by watching Schlock AKA Banana Monster here.

John Landis wrote, directed and starred in it!

Rick Baker made the Schlock suit and mask.

Eliza Garrett plays the blind girl he goes bananas over.
She thinks he's a dog, so she keeps throwing him a stick.

That scene is great, but the movie theater scenes are the best.

Don't lay a finger on his Butterfinger!
And don't block his view!

The man wearing glasses is Forrest J. Ackerman.
You can see him better in this shot:

Schlock is featured in Forrest's Famous Monsters magazine #96.

Chocorilla, Strawberry and Vanilla

This 17" tall, 4 lb chocolate King Kong is the perfect treat for Ape-ril:

I wanted to get him here for Easter, but $95 is bananas!

So I got something completely different.
These strawberry unicorn cakes and lavender vanilla cupcakes:

"She dreams a champagne dream
Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper
Lavender and cream
Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her"

They made me think of those lines from the song Shimmer by Fuel.
You can watch the music video for it here.

TidalWave and Machina Corpse Graphic Novels

I loved Vincent Price Presents Vol. 1 and can't wait to read the other volumes here.

It starts with a forward by Roger Corman! Director of the Poe films starring Vincent.

Vincent introduces the four stories in the book and stars in one about a cyborg dog!

My favorite story is Rue Morgue High, which is perfect for Ape-ril.
Here's how Vincent introduces it:

That story is also in TidalWave's Classic Horror graphic novel:

TidalWave sent me an advance copy and I loved it too.

Especially the good gillman in the Humanoids From The Deep (1980) sequel:

Ray Harryhausen Presents: The Pit And The Pendulum is my favorite story in it.
The Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959) sequel is a close second though.

You can preorder Classic Horror here.

You can also preorder The God Machine Vol. 1 re:VISION on Kickstarter till April 7 here.

I did. I also bought Machina Corpse's First Offerings graphic novel here.
It features stories about Dracula and his bunny Floppy.
This one is my favorite:

Have a spooky Easter Bunday!
