Before the month ends...

I must share an interview with The Velvet Coffin chicks,
including me (my first interview!) and this ghoul lady:

Randi (Zombi) Raven

Please check it out here!

Women in Horror Month may be ending,
but (Cat)Women's Day is on the way!

As you can see, I'm rocking red for it!

I'll be posting red art for St. Patty's Day too,
hopefully along with many of you!
(There will be a linky list to sign up on that day.)
Thanks to those who were so supportive of the idea,
I've decided to make it a monthly thing!
Click on The Lab tab for more details.

A Halloween Man Fan Art Contest is also in the works,
so March is going to be full of bloody good fun!

A Creative Challenge

First off, the winner of the Vampire's Day Giveaway was SunshineShelle!
(Hope you enjoy your 3 month subscription to fullmoonstreaming.com)

Shelle is also doing a giveaway.
You can win one of her 29 Faces portraits
(including the one below) by commenting here!

All you amazing artists I met at the Soiree
have inspired me to get back into creating.
Whether it be poetry, painting, whatever.

So I propose a creative challenge for Saint Patty's Day.
Create something RED (and creepy, of course.)

Why red and not green?
Because March is Red Cross Month
(and I like breaking the rules.)

It'll also be a great warm-up for this colorful celebration:

The Third Annual Vampire's Day Soiree

Velcome, darklings!
Like my dress? (And did anyone see where I put my head?)
It's made of some of the blood I withdrew from the Blood Bank
(Actually it's made of wine. More details here.)

I also used some of the blood to make this Vampie:
(Actually it's a movie, which is being unleashed here today!)

Have a bite, then wash it down with a bloody vodka shot!

Let's have some music now, shall we?
Here's Nosferatu, I mean Billy Corgan and The Smashing Pumpkins!

Giveaway Time!
Since you must be a fullmoonstreaming.com subscriber to watch Vampie,
I'm going to randomly pick one of you to gift a 3 month subscription to!

To be eligible, you must be a Soiree attendee.
If you're not one yet, you can still sign up here!
Don't have a blog? You can post on Facebook or Twitter.
Just make it public and use hashtag #VampiresDay

The winner will be picked and announced Sunday.
It's just my way to say thanks for helping me take over this day!
*Blows bloody kisses to all of you*
(Look, I found my head! ;)

Now go "mingle" with the fangtastic folks listed here!

Calling all female horror artists!

As you can see,
I made a withdraw from the Blood Bank today for the Vampire's Day Soiree!
(Since it was in Australia, I should've visited Emma of Little Gothic Horrors.)

Seriously though, if I was physically able, I'd donate blood.
And I urge all of you who are able to go give some red stuff.
If you do, send a photo or video of it to hannah@womeninhorrormonth.com
and if you're one of the first 50 people to, you'll get one of these WIHM pins:

Of course you can also make a monetary donation to the Red Cross.
Or to indie female artists, like my friend Kym Larsen:

Kym as Blind Mag from Repo! The Genetic Opera

She's raising funds to make bloody beautiful music here!

Speaking of beautiful music,
here's a fitting song by another one of my favorite female artists:

If you're a female horror artist, I'd love to feature you!
Any type of artist. You don't have to be a musician.
Writers, you too! Any and all girls spreading gore.

Classic TV Props

First off,
Happy Women In Horror Recognition Month
&
Happy Year of the (Educated) Horse!

While gathering photos for that video,
I stumbled upon Mister Ed's legs!

Well, they aren't his, but they are real taxidermy horse legs,
which were used for close-up leg stunts on the show.

Back Lot Charlie has quite a collection of classic TV props.

Here's some of my favorites:

Iron Maiden prop from The Addams Family

Grandpa Munster's tuxedo and lab prop

Check out the rest of his collection here!

I just started the History of Horror TV class at DSU,
so stay tuned for a post on those spooky families soon!
