V. Day is on the way!

Don't fear, V. Day isn't Valentine's Day here.
It's Vampire's Day!

Here are some ways to spend the day:

1. Get a gift for your significant other, (or you! >:)

Any of these will do...

Make personalized gifts at Zazzle.

2. Prepare a bloody banquet,
or a heart shaped pizza!

(Pretend the sauce is blood. >:)

3. Watch a vampire film, (of course!)

It features a mortal girl in love with a vampire.
(Kind of like Twilight. Only animated and good.)
It got to me (I'm a sucker for vamps ;),
so does this AMV...

(You can watch the whole film on YouTube too! :)

Want a corpse companion to cuddle with while you watch?
Stay tuned, I'll be giving one away soon!

Happy 202nd Birthday, Edgar!

There was a birthday bash on the 15th at The Poe Museum.
(Which I haven't visited yet, surprisingly, since I'm in VA.)

His actual birthday was yesterday though.
At least that's what the Internet says.
His gravestone disagrees, as you can see...

It states he was born today, the 20th. Wonder which is true?

By the way, I took that photo myself!
When I visited the Westminster Hall Burying Grounds in 09.
Here's a shot of the other side...

[Fact: His aunt/mother-in-law and wife are also buried there.]

Anyway, this seems like a perfect time to present my petite Poe!
(He's one of two actually.)

Resurrected and reunited with his lost love Lenore

Hopefully Annabel Lee won't find out!
Here he is resting with her...

And now I'll leave you with my favorite Poe inspired song...

Action Figure Fun!

The undead stalk the Mistress of the Dark...

Elvira in Night Of The Living Dead

Now the next nightmare, a Horror Con!
Where another creep cops a feel...

[Buyers Beware: Skeleton Figure is extremely fragile!
Putting him in a sitting position popped his pelvis off!
Other than that I love him though. He even has fangs!]

In other toy news, I just ordered this...

*Squeals like a little girl!*
Stay tuned for more on Monster High soon!

Here comes the Bride...

Let's Get Married by Kristina Dutton

I just purchased a print of that pretty,
which I plan to frame with lime green film!

Also, to brides & grooms to be:

Did you know you could be wed by the undead?!
Or an Elvira Impersonator?!

Those are just two of the Gothic Weddings available in Vegas!
 (Of course!)

Daytimers go to the Dark Side

Confession: I'm a recovering As The World Turns addict.

So, I was happy to hear two ATWT actors are now in the horror biz!

Agim Kaba (Aaron) stars in Neowolf [The Band From Hell]

He plays Vince, a not so hairy (except on his upper lip) werewolf rock star.

Seems like a werewolf version of the vampire flick Suck, (which lived up to it's title.)
So, I don't have much hope for it, but I'll watch it for Agim.
(Just like I watched the other flick for Alice Cooper.)
Veronica Cartright is also in it, so it might not be too bad.

Next is Jake Silbermann (Noah),

Michel Altieri as Dracula and Jake as Jonathan Harker

Playing at the Little Shubert Theatre now through the 13th.

My Favorite Monsters

Now adorn my wall!
I filled my film strip frame with Universal monster postcards from Gorey Details ♥
Check it out...

Dracula and Drac & snack

Frankenstein head shot and full shot

The Mummy and Wolfman

And last but not least,
The Creature from the Black Lagoon
A.K.A. Gillman!

I would've included Frankenstein's Bride,
but couldn't find a postcard of her, sadly.

So, who's your favorite Universal monster?
Cast your vote in my current poll!
