Multimedia Review of Whoever Slew Auntie Roo?

I watched Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? (1971) on Mother's Day and fell in love with it.
Except for the ending. I was rooting for Roo.
I wish they made an Auntie Roo 2: Roo's Revenge.
She could've been a female Freddy, killing the kiddies in their dreams.
Tagline: Christopher & Katy will rue the day they sent her away!

I'd be kind of sad to see little Katy go though. I related with her.
Since we both lost our mom, and now depend on our big brother.

Anyway, it reminded me of one of my favorite songs by Katzenjammer Kabarett.
So, I decided to combine the two of them.
Here's the result.... (My first video!)

Gemini Girly Song

My darling baby now let's go to bed
But darling sounds like beloved instead
Mommy ignores the lurking dread
Sweet child of hers has twins in her head
Has twins in her head...
"I got twins in my head!!"

The bed was tucked, there was no one around
I wish I could move but my limbs are bound
The night is so thick and sweet Mommy's gone
Afraid of the dark and the voices come
The voices come
(and my Mommy's gone)

Dollies and puppets dance on the shelf
Night-night me, night-night myself
Pictures, voices and thoughts in whirls
Girlies kissing other girls and other girls

Silent moans: "Oh Mommy please help me!"
"Kiss her, no, kill her!" Can't help this uneasy
Dolly mixture of feelings and shadows
Anger and joy tension and sorrow
And everything goes...

Gingerbread bogeymen, void wedding dresses
Dance in the trees, giving cold kisses
Legions of shades walk by the windows
While winds blow the cries of weeping willows
(She's the one to know)

Through the moonlit forest pale feet ran fast
Trying to escape from herself aghast
The very last step was made to the river
Where lily-white dresses float forever
For ever and ever

Everything hastened in the fake roundabout
Poor Gemini girl, she found no way out
By her lily-white hand,
The dead dollies took her
And tied her to dreams for ever and ever

Gemini Girly came and said to me
"Don't you be worried, I lie with dollies
And they look after me
Just like sweet Mommy
Used to care for me
Used to care for me

And now every night, she comes in my sleep
Now every night she comes in my sleep!"...

[Note: I chopped about 30 seconds off. Listen to the whole song here.]

  1. Woah. That song put me on edge! Good job putting the music montage together. I've never heard of this movie, but it looks a little disturbing!
